Jiu Chen  is a Daoist-inspired ritual incense created around the rare symbolism of thunderstruck wood. In traditional Daoist belief, wood touched by lightning is associated with celestial force, pure yang energy, renewal, and spiritual clarity. The incense uses thunderstruck jujube wood as its core material, supported by a carefully balanced blend of sweet flag root, clove, mint, red dates, and beeswax. This incense was ritually prepared and consecrated at Ningzhen Temple in Kuocang Cave, known in Daoist tradition as one of the sacred cave-heavens. It was completed on the birthday of the Southern Sacred Emperor, adding a layer of ceremonial meaning to the incense beyond its physical fragrance.
