A one-of-a-kind bracelet cut from dark Golden Silk Nanmu sunken wood, selected for its fine Longdan figure and shifting golden grain.

Origin & Story

Golden Silk Nanmu refers to prized nanmu timbers whose fine fibres can reveal a gold-like sheen under changing light. Nanmu has a long material history in Chinese architecture, furniture and refined objects. ‘Sunken wood’ describes timber preserved for an extended period in low-oxygen wet or buried conditions, which can deepen its tone and density.

This bracelet is valued first as a material object. Its Longdan figure moves through deep brown beads in fine, warm lines, producing a surface that changes subtly rather than flashing. Only one finished bracelet is available.

Traditional Meaning & Intention

Nanmu is culturally associated with durability, composure and cultivated taste. As a personal object, the bracelet can hold intentions of stable growth, self-possession and continuity across time.

  • Steady growth and mature confidence
  • Continuity and long-term perspective
  • A rare natural-material collector’s piece
  • Meaningful gifting without overt symbolism

Temple Ritual & Blessing

Before release, this object was placed on a Daoist temple altar for a period and included in a blessing rite conducted by Daoist priests. For Dao Origin, that rite is part of the object’s provenance: a deliberate preparation that joins material, craft and intention.

Materials & Dimensions

This one-of-a-kind bracelet is cut from solid natural Golden Silk Nanmu sunken wood, not resin, plastic or an engineered wood composite. Its deep tone, Longdan figure, reflective fibres and grain belong to the timber itself. No two beads—and no two bracelets—can be exactly alike; subtle shifts in colour and natural marks are part of its character rather than defects.

  • Material: Golden Silk Nanmu sunken wood
  • Figure: Longdan grain pattern
  • Availability: one-of-a-kind; one bracelet only
  • Colour: deep brown with naturally reflective golden grain

How to Wear or Use

Wear as a statement of material and craft rather than a high-gloss jewellery piece. Roll gently over the hand and avoid excessive stretching.
