Return and Refund Policy

At Dao Origin, we want every order to arrive with care and clarity. If something is not right with your purchase, please contact us as soon as possible so we can review the issue and help you with the next step.

Return window
You may request a return within 30 days after your order has been delivered. To be eligible for a return, the item must be unused, unworn, unburned, unwashed, unaltered, and in the same condition in which you received it. It must also be returned with its original packaging, tags, cards, accessories, and any protective materials included with the order.

How to start a return
Before sending anything back, please contact us through the Contact page on daoorigin.net with your order number and the reason for your return request. If your return is accepted, we will provide return instructions. Items sent back without first requesting a return may not be accepted.

Non-returnable items
For hygiene, safety, and product-integrity reasons, certain items cannot be returned. This includes:
- Final sale items or items marked as non-returnable.
- Gift cards or digital products.
- Customized, personalized, or specially requested items.
- Incense, fragrance, or aromatic products that have been opened, burned, used, or altered.
- Items that have been worn, used in practice or ritual, exposed to oils, smoke, fragrance, water, or other external materials.
- Items damaged after delivery due to misuse, improper care, or normal wear.

Damaged, defective, or incorrect items
Please inspect your order when it arrives. If your item is defective, damaged in transit, or if you received the wrong item, contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the item, packaging, and shipping label. We will review the issue and, where appropriate, offer a replacement, refund, or another reasonable solution.

Natural variation
Many Dao Origin items are made from natural materials such as wood, metal, stone, resin, incense ingredients, or other organic textures. Natural grain, color variation, handmade marks, patina, and small differences in texture are part of the character of these objects and are not considered defects.

Return shipping
Unless the item is confirmed to be defective, damaged, or incorrect, customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Original shipping fees are non-refundable unless required by applicable law or the issue was caused by our error. We recommend using a trackable shipping service, as we are not responsible for returns lost or damaged in transit.

Refunds
After we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you whether the refund has been approved. If approved, the refund will be issued to your original payment method. Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to be processed by your bank, credit card company, or payment provider.

Partial refunds
In some cases, only a partial refund may be granted. This may apply when an item is returned with missing packaging, missing accessories, signs of use, or condition changes that were not present at delivery.

Exchanges
We do not guarantee direct exchanges because availability can change quickly. If you would like a different item, the fastest option is to request a return for the eligible item and place a new order once the return is approved.

Order cancellations
If you need to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible. We can only cancel an order before it has been processed or shipped. Once an order has been fulfilled or handed to the carrier, it must follow the return process above.

International orders, duties, and taxes
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or local charges required by their country or region. These charges are not collected by Dao Origin and are generally non-refundable through us. If a package is refused or returned due to unpaid duties, taxes, or failed delivery attempts, any refund may be reduced by shipping costs, return fees, or other carrier charges.

Lost or delayed packages
If your package appears lost or significantly delayed, please contact us so we can help review the tracking information. Once a package is marked delivered by the carrier, we may ask you to check with your local carrier, building reception, household members, or neighbors before a claim can be reviewed.

Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws. Where local law gives you additional rights, those rights will continue to apply.
